Internship Program
Schuyler Line Navigation Company’s (SLNC) internship program offers real world experiences for students exploring a career in the maritime industry. SLNC’s headquarters, located in Annapolis, MD is looking for students with outstanding academic records and proven leadership capabilities to intern in our offices throughout the year.
An internship at SLNC is a hands-on learning experience under the guidance of various Operational Managers. This position will provide interns with the opportunity to support the operational needs of the Bold Ocean family of companies. This unique internship opportunity allows students to learn the inner workings of our shoreside operations and develop valuable relationships in our offices that will serve them well in their future career endeavors. We like our interns to have firsthand experience in the maritime industry, and, when possible, we invite interns to visit ships and customers with us. Your internship may involve doing work for each of the companies in the Bold Ocean family.

Eligible Candidates
Ideal candidates would include students with an exemplary academic record and an interest in the maritime industry. Interns need to be currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor’s program from an accredited college or university. SLNC will review applications for exceptional high school students on a rolling basis.
What to Expect
During your time as an SLNC intern, you will gain firsthand experience in the office operations of a leading U.S. flag shipping company. Your day will include errands and tasks that are critical to ensure our companies are able to provide seamless service to our clients around the world. You’ll gain a basic understanding of the operations needed to keep our ships running and our crews supported on a global basis. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to read relevant industry publications and help do research and organize data. Your internship will be what you make of it- some days may include supporting office operations but each day you will have the opportunity to learn the inner workings of a successful shipping company and gain facetime with mentors that can support your future career endeavors.

Are the internships paid?
Interns will be paid Maryland minimum wage on an hourly basis. In addition, if your schedule allows, you’ll be included in our free group lunches in our Annapolis office if offered during that time.
